BMW has recently launched a new sDrive 20d M Sport variant of the X1 and it is priced at INR 41.50 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India).​​BMW is all set to introduce its entry-level SUV in the market, the X1, a mid-life update soon. The updated SUV was spotted testing . It is all set to make its official entry in SUV market in end of the year.

DESIGN:

Taking a look at design, the new X1 mixes the dynamic lines of the 1-Series with the stance of its previos 2-Series Active Tourer sibling. Among the noticable highlights it points out that the headlights and grille arrangement matched with the plastic body cladding and have higher ground clearance.

The interior also similates with the 2-Series Active Tourer’s layout with the 6.5 inch and  8.8 inch freestanding display, a sports style three-spoke steering wheel and a contrasting arrangement  of wood, aluminum and gloss black accent finish. The new X1 provides more space and more seating position compared to its previous version mainly due to its change in the postion of the engine from longitudinal to transverse. Ground clearance measures 183 mm.. Depending upon its version, the X1 is up to 135kgs lighter than its predecessor, due to the use of hot-formed strengthed steel and aluminium used within the main body structure.The  bonnet of aluminium also helps alot in its weight being lighter.

BMW X1 Engine:

BMW X1 sports  a 2.0-litre, twin-turbo diesel engine that produces out 192.6PS of max power and 400Nm of top torque. It is fixed to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and sprints from 0-100 kmph in 7.6 sec (xDrive) and 7.8 sec (sDrive). The top speed of the xDrive model is rated at 219kmph, whereas the sDrive points a marginally figure of 222kmph.

ADDITONAL FEATURES:

The additinal and key features of new X1 are, it is equipped with six airbags, a panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps, rain-sensable auto wipers, LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), two-zone climate control and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with  Apple CarPlay supported.This all features in such compact price make it worth luxurious cars and best SUV from BMW in range and will definetely compete with many of the other SUV models in the market present freom other automobiles company.

BMW X1 Prices and Variants: 

The X1 is BMW’s entry-level SUV offering better specs in India. It is priced  between Rs 34.5 lakh INR and Rs 44.5 lakh INR (ex-showroom Delhi) for its top-model version. The compact SUV is available with only  diesel engine and comes in four different  variants: sDrive 20d Expedition, sDrive 20d xLine, sDrive 20d M Sport and xDrive 20d M Sport.

BMW X1 Competitors: Mercedes Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and the Volvo XC40 , will give a tough competition to this model having worth frature in its price range.
